The central UN body for NYTKIS is the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW), which operates under the Office of the High Representative for Human Rights. The Committee monitors the implementation of the Convention on the Elimination of all Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW).
Since 2019, we have been involved in the preparation of the CEDAW report by Finnish NGOs. NYTKIS acted as coordinator of the NGO report. The report was submitted in October 2022 at the CEDAW Committee meeting. NYTKIS participated in the Committee meeting in Geneva as an accredited organisation to ensure the quality of the Finnish government’s CEDAW consultation.
